For the past month or so, there has been an intermittent beep coming from the office. After searching on the internet I found that the computer was making that sound because of a problem on the motherboard. So, I finally broke down and bought some new components to fix the computer. They arrived Friday, and Friday night I set about putting it together.
As I unboxed the items, I was thinking about how fun computers are. I started assembling components and then I heard the familiar beep sound. What? The computer was right in front of me, disassembled. So, it wasn't the computer after all. I just spent all that money (since I unboxed and assembled every thing it was too late to return it) for an upgrade for no reason?!!!
After composing myself I continued to get things ready on the computer. As I was putting the motherboard into the case, I noticed something. It didn't fit. What! The huge PC that I had was actually a "micro" form factor, and the motherboard I bought was not... Rachel and I were silent for a moment...
As I stood there drinking a glass of water in anger, I decided to put it down and get a better look at the situation. Then the glass spilled on the new computer. Ok, so that last part didn't happen. But it would have been my luck. It's times like these that I remember I am NEVER going to be a gambling person.
